Pallucco, a historic brand in the world of design specialized in the production of decorative lamps and interior furnishings, was born in the 1970s in Rome thanks to architect Paolo Pallucco. In the early 1980s, the company moved to the Veneto region and immediately stood out for the non-conformist concept of its designs and image. Pallucco stands for design culture and experimentation of art, architecture, and design: in an ongoing exploration of the boundaries of contemporary design and with great freedom of expression, which is the authentic label of Pallucco, the company switches from the research of the most diverse idioms and styles, under the guidance of Hannes Wettstein and Jurgen Bey, to contamination with the fashion world through the collaboration with photographer Peter Lindbergh and stylist Rei Kawakubo.
In 1972, a group of young architects created BD with the intention of producing and marketing furniture and other objects for their projects. Their idea was to produce both their own designs and those of the authors they admired, from Antoni Gaudí or Salvador Dalí to Ettore Sottsass or Alessandro Mendini. They were pioneers of design in Spain and immediately obtained the recognition and admiration of professionals in the sector, who were looking for something different from what was on the market. Now close to turning 50, we continue with the same nonconformist spirit as at the beginning. We are in more than 60 countries, present in the best design stores and art galleries, and working with the most avant-garde interior design and architecture studios around the world.
Since its foundation in the fifties Danese Milano has been a company that gives value to space. It does so with a catalogue of disruptive objects. The spirit of the time and the centrality of the human being are reflected in the importance that the company assigns to the choice of authors it involves. The quality of the materials it applies and the synthesis of forms achieved so far transcend seasonality. The creation of archetypes for the home and the office as well as the desire to design contemporary objects whose innovation is not diluted in the course of history is the furrow that Carlotta de Bevilacqua, unique administrator of Danese Milano since 1999, continues to trace, choosing to give back perspective without nostalgia to an historic company of the Italian design.

Rooted in Seattle as architects, founders Seth and Jon decided to further feed their creative appetites through product design and art exhibits. In 2007, “graypants” was scribbled onto a piece of paper and the new company’s flagship line of pendant lights made entirely of repurposed corrugated cardboard – Scraplights – was promptly introduced. Scraplights quickly became a prime example of the principles that graypants embodies to this day – responsible design, responsible materials, responsible production… and having fun. In 2012, the Amsterdam studio was founded to become a hub for local European production and distribution to over forty countries, and has partnered with social works programs to provide craft-based work where needed the most. The Seattle studio continues to provide local production for North America and houses the bustling custom and prototyping shop.
